With my retirement this past June, the 2006-2007 school year marked my
19th and final year of teaching in District 96! Throughout my over 30 years of teaching I have taught Spanish, French,
ESL and Bilingual Education from preschool through adult education. Currently I am an adjunct professor for National Louis
University, supervising student teachers. I earned my B.S. in Education from Southern Illinois University, and my M.S.
in Bilingual Education from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I also studied at the Universidad Veracruzana in Jalapa,
VeraCruz, México. I have been a member of AATSP, ICTFL, and IFLTA for over eighteen years. My travels abroad have included
Spain, México, and Honduras. I have sponsored student trips to the Yucatán every two years. My husband Jim and I
have been married for 39 years, and we have one son, Jimmy. He and his wife Lisa have given us two grandchildren.
Tyler is three years old, and baby Luke was one year old this past June. We are also the proud owners
of a Bichon Frise dog, Monty, who takes up a great deal of our time. We are a family of avid golfers, and in the
winter when we cannot play, we enjoy reading and watching movies.
